ABOUT SHEB

blogs about theology, philosophy blog, christian theology and philosophy, a blog about theology, philosophy, church, and cultureI grew up in a home in which my parents raised me in the Christian faith. My dad worked as a missionary and a pastor, so I got to experience a variety of cultures, and see many parts of the world.

Even though my parents were Pentecostal, I grew up surrounded by different Christian denominations such as Baptist, Nazarene, and Presbyterian; I feel grateful for the early exposure I had to a spectrum of belief systems.

I was very blessed to attend a classical Christian school throughout Junior High and High School, and so I had the opportunity to study thinkers like Plato, Aquinas, and Luther. My high school experience was incredibly formative in my life, and it led me to study philosophy at Northwest University, where I graduated with a B.A. in Religion and Philosophy. I earned an M.A. in Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and I'll be starting a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Aberdeen  later this year.

I am a passionate follower of Jesus, and I want to bring every thought captive in obedience to Christ. I am very happily married to the love of my life, and I am a father to two beautiful girls.

In addition to my interest in theology and philosophy, I really enjoy film. My top five favorite movies are The Dark Knight, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Batman Begins, Inception, and The Emperor's New Groove.
